Average Intensity of a Laguerre—Gaussian Vector Vortex Beam through Inhomogeneous Atmospheric Turbulence

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
We investigate the evolution properties of a partially coherent Laguerre–Gaussian vector vortex (LGVV) beam through inhomogeneous atmospheric turbulence. Analytical formulae for the elements of a cross-spectral density matrix of a partially coherent LGVV

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Generation and Propagation of Partially Coherent Power-Exponent-Phase Vortex Beam

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
We report on a partially coherent power-exponent-phase vortex beam (PC-PEPV), whose spatial coherence is controllable and the initial phase exhibits a periodic power exponential change.

A Note on the Radiative and Collisional Branching Ratios in Polarized Radiation Transport with Coherent Scattering

open access: yes, 2016
We discuss the implementation of physically meaningful branching ratios between the CRD and PRD contributions to the emissivity of a polarized multi-term atom in the presence of both inelastic and elastic collisions.

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Propagation of Correlation Singularities of a Partially Coherent Laguerre–Gaussian Electromagnetic Beam in a Uniaxial Crystal

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
The correlation singularities of a partially coherent Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) electromagnetic beam in a uniaxial crystal is shown to possess interesting evolution behavior. The analytical formula for the cross-spectral density matrix of a partially

Coherent Pion Production in Neutrino Nucleus Scattering

open access: yes, 2016
In this article, we study the coherent pion production in neutrino-nucleus interaction in the resonance region using the formalism based on partially conserved axial current (PCAC) theorem which relates the neutrino-nucleus cross section to the pion ...

Coherent diffusion of partial spatial coherence

open access: yesOptica, 2019
Partially coherent light is abundant in many physical systems, and its propagation properties are well understood. Here we extend current theory of propagation of partially coherent light beams to the field of coherent diffusion. Based on a unique four-wave mixing scheme of electro-magnetically induced transparency, an optical speckle pattern is ...

Linear algebraic theory of partial coherence: discrete fields and measures of partial coherence [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2002
A linear algebraic theory of partial coherence is presented that allows precise mathematical definitions of concepts such as coherence and incoherence. This not only provides new perspectives and insights but also allows us to employ the conceptual and algebraic tools of linear algebra in applications. We define several scalar measures of the degree of
