The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Full-dimensional complex coherence properties tomography for multi-cipher information security

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Advances
Optical coherence is a fundamental property of light, playing a key role in understanding interference, propagation, and light-matter interactions for both classical and quantum light. Measuring the coherence properties of an optical field is crucial for

Unidirectional imaging with partially coherent light

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Nexus
Unidirectional imagers form images of input objects only in one direction, e.g., from field-of-view (FOV) A to FOV B, while blocking the image formation in the reverse direction, from FOV B to FOV A. Here, we report unidirectional imaging under spatially partially coherent light and demonstrate high-quality imaging only in the forward direction (A-> ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Coherent Matrix-Based Approach for Evaluation of First-Order Speckle Intensity Statistics and Its Application for Speckle Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
The existing approach for evaluating the statistical characteristics of speckle intensity distribution is applicable only to completely decorrelated laser beams.

Invariant degrees of coherence of partially polarized light

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
The spatio-temporal properties of partially polarized light are analyzed in order to separate partial polarization and partial coherence. For that purpose we introduce useful invariance properties which allow one to characterize intrinsic properties of the optical light independently of the particular experimental conditions. This approach leads to new

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Quantitative Phase Contrast Microscopy with Optimized Partially Coherent Illumination

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
This paper presents a partially coherent illumination quantitative phase contrast microscopic (PCI-QPCM) prototype. In the PCI-QPCM prototype, the light scattered by a rotating diffuser is coupled into a multi-mode fiber, and the output light is used as ...
