Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Compactness on Soft Topological Ordered Spaces and Its Application on the Information System

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
It is well known every soft topological space induced from soft information system is soft compact. In this study, we integrate between soft compactness and partially ordered set to introduce new types of soft compactness on the finite spaces and ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Contractibility of Solution Sets in Partially Ordered Semi-infinite Set Optimization

open access: yesJournal of Optimization, Differential Equations and Their Applications
This paper studies contractibility of m-efficient and weak m-efficient solution sets in the context of semi-infinite set optimization with respect to a partial set order relation.

Leveled partially ordered sets

open access: yesComputational and Applied Mathematics
Abstract This article presents our approach to modeling a problem posed by a company aiming to optimize the 3D printing of an object within the context of additive manufacturing, where each object is created layer by layer. We introduce the concept of leveled partially ordered sets to manage large sets of points that represent each layer of ...

An Arithmetical Theorem for Partially Ordered Sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1950
The simplest multiplicative systems in which arithmetical ideas can be defined are semigroups. For such systems irreducible (prime) elements can be introduced and conditions under which the fundamental theorem of arithmetic holds have been ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Inferring microRNA regulation of mRNA with partially ordered samples of paired expression data and exogenous prediction algorithms. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
MicroRNAs (miRs) are known to play an important role in mRNA regulation, often by binding to complementary sequences in "target" mRNAs. Recently, several methods have been developed by which existing sequence-based target predictions can be combined with

$q$-Rationals and Finite Schubert Varieties

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2023
The classical $q$-analogue of the integers was recently generalized by Morier-Genoud and Ovsienko to give $q$-analogues of rational numbers. Some combinatorial interpretations are already known, namely as the rank generating functions for certain ...
