2D PIC modeling of the helical scrape-off layer current driven by hybrid divertor biased targets in tokamak plasmas

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The heat flux control of the divertor plate via strike-point splitting generated by biased targets was proposed in the HL-2A tokamak (Cui et al 2021 Fusion Eng. Des. 173 112963).

Design and Simulation of a 3-MW L-Band Magnetron for Vehicle Stop System

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a design and simulation of a 3-MW-class L-band magnetron. The magnetron has 12 hole-and-slot resonators with double-strapped wires to eliminate the mode change during operation.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Heating and acceleration of coronal and chromospheric ions during solar flares [PDF]

open access: yes
One-dimensional, electrostatic, particle-in-cell simulations are used to explore two mechanisms proposed to explain turbulent broadening of soft x ray emission lines of heavy ions observed during solar flares and the presence of blue-shifted components ...

Ketogenic Diet as an Epigenetic Therapy in SETD1B‐Related Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Histone lysine methyltransferases such as SETD1B regulate chromatin structure and gene transcription. Ketone bodies, including butyrate, act as histone deacetylase inhibitors. We report a 4‐year‐old boy with SETD1B‐related absence epilepsy, refractory to conventional medications, who achieved sustained > 90% seizure reduction on the Modified ...

Efficient Monte Carlo simulation of streamer discharges with deep-learning denoising models

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
Electric breakdown in non-conducting gases is a complex process that in its first stages is characterized by filamentary discharges called streamers. Streamer dynamics are inherently nonlinear and span broad temporal and spatial scales, making numerical ...

Choroid Plexus Enlargement and USPIO‐Based Inflammatory Feature in Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The choroid plexus (CP) is a key component of the blood–cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB), but its mechanism of action in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) remains unclear. This study investigated CP volume (CPV) alterations and their association with conventional imaging markers in CSVD and explored the underlying role of ...
