CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

A First Mass Production of Gas Electron Multipliers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report on the manufacture of a first batch of approximately 2,000 Gas Electron Multipliers (GEMs) using 3M's fully automated roll to roll flexible circuit production line. This process allows low-cost, reproducible fabrication of a high volume of GEMs

Rotating Hayward’s regular black hole as particle accelerator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A bstractRecently, Bañados, Silk and West (BSW) demonstrated that the extremal Kerr black hole can act as a particle accelerator with arbitrarily high center-of-mass energy (ECM) when the collision takes place near the horizon.

Preconditioned flow as a solution to the hierarchical growth problem in the generalized Lefschetz thimble method

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The generalized Lefschetz thimble method is a promising approach that attempts to solve the sign problem in Monte Carlo methods by deforming the integration contour using the flow equation.

Development of High-Granularity Dual-Readout Calorimetry with psec Timing [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Dual-readout and particle flow algorithm (PFA) are technologies proposed for precise jet energy measurement in future colliders. While PFA requires highly granular calorimeters, dual-readout has mainly been used with fiber-based calorimeters that do not ...

LHC signals of triplet scalars as dark matter portal: cut-based approach and improvement with gradient boosting and neural networks

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We consider a scenario where an SU(2) triplet scalar acts as the portal for a scalar dark matter particle. We identify regions of the parameter space, where such a triplet coexists with the usual Higgs doublet consistently with all theoretical as well as

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Transverse Beam Profiles

open access: yes, 2020
The performance and safe operation of a particle accelerator is closely connected to the transverse emittance of the beams it produces. For this reason many techniques have been developed over the years for monitoring the transverse distribution of ...

Synthesis mechanism from graphene quantum dots to carbon nanotubes by ion-sputtering assisted chemical vapor deposition

open access: yesDiscover Nano
We present the first work of the synthesis mechanism from graphene quantum dots (GQDs) to carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by an ion-sputtering assisted chemical vapor deposition.
