All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

VLF emission triggering by a highly anisotropic electron plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A recent paper by Bell et al (Bell et al,2000) reports observations from the POLAR spacecraft of highly anisotropic hot electron distribution functions in the equatorial region of the magnetosphere at L=3.4.

On the accuracy of the binary-collision algorithm in particle-in-cell simulations of magnetically confined fusion plasmas

open access: yes, 2021
| openaire: EC/H2020/633053/EU//EUROfusionIdeally, binary-collision algorithms conserve kinetic momentum and energy. In practice, the finite size of collision cells and the finite difference in the particle locations affect the conservation properties ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Muon injection and acceleration via ultraintense electron beam-driven plasma wakefield

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams
High-flux, high-energy muon beams hold transformative potential for particle physics, yet rapid acceleration to relativistic energies in plasma wakefields is limited by dephasing arising from their larger mass and lower velocity.

Kinetic treatment of parallel gradient nonuniformity for the ICRF heating—A fourier integral approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
We study the generally nonlocal Vlasov‐Maxwell wave propagation and absorption problem for an arbitrarily nonuniform plasma. The Fourier transform of the nonlocal dielectric response kernel, K(r,k), is constructed by integration along particle orbits in ...

Polarizable Vanadium Dipoles Promote Water Dissociation on Vanadium‐Based Metal Organic Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polarization of unpaired V 3d electrons weakens the H─O bond to improve water dissociation by the dual Vδ+:O─H and Pλ−:H─O coupling hydrogen bonds formation and relaxation. P@V‐MOF electrocatalyst shows low overpotentials (94 mV in acid, 178 mV in neutral, and 77 mV in alkaline solutions) with excellent stability for effective overall water ...

Self-consistent nonlinear kinetic simulations of the anomalous Doppler instability of suprathermal electrons in plasmas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Suprathermal tails in the distributions of electron velocities parallel to the magnetic field are found in many areas of plasma physics, from magnetic confinement fusion to solar system plasmas.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

The role of quantum computing in advancing plasma physics simulations for fusion energy and high-energy

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
Its complexity constrains advancements in fusion energy and high energy applications driven by plasma physics, multiscale phenomena beyond classical computing limits. These transformative solutions, especially in plasma simulations, for which exponential
