Unified gas-kinetic wave-particle methods IV: multi-species gas mixture and plasma transport
In this paper, we extend the unified gas-kinetic wave-particle (UGKWP) methods to the multi-species gas mixture and multiscale plasma transport. The construction of the scheme is based on the direct modeling on the mesh size and time step scales, and the

Spatio-Temporal Plasma Afterglow Induces Additional Neutral Drag Force on Microparticles
An emerging topic in complex plasma physics is the interaction between dust particles and afterglow plasmas. Control of plasma-particle interactions and specifically of the particle trajectories is especially relevant for plasma based contamination ...

Physics of Alfvén waves and energetic particles in burning plasmas
In magnetic fusion reactors relying on the burning of deuterium and tritium, sufficient confinement of the alpha particles produced in the nuclear reactions is crucial to sustaining the burning plasma. In this article the interactions of these energetic particles with linear and nonlinear Alfve'n waves generated in the magnetized plasma are reviewed.

Alpha Particle Physics in Toroidal Plasmas.
Alpha particle physics of toroidal (or tokamak) plasmas is discussed based on the reports for the survey of physics related to fast ions and alpha particles published by the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research.Main topics are alpha particle confinement, destabilization or stabilization of MHD modes by alpha particles, alpha ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

On the Coupling of Fields and Particles in Accelerator and Plasma Physics
In accelerator and plasma physics it is accepted that there is no need to solve the dynamical equations for particles in covariant form, i.e. by using the coordinate-independent proper time to parameterize particle world-lines in space-time: to describe dynamics in the laboratory frame, there is no need to use the laws of relativistic kinematics. It is

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Sub-laser-cycle control of relativistic plasma mirrors
We present measurements of high-order harmonics and relativistic electrons emitted into the vacuum from a plasma mirror driven by temporally shaped ultraintense laser wave forms, produced by collinearly combining the main laser field with its second ...

Collisionless distribution function for the relativistic force-free Harris sheet [PDF]
A self-consistent collisionless distribution function for the relativistic analogue of the force-free Harris sheet is presented. This distribution function is the relativistic generalization of the distribution function for the non-relativistic ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
