Particle Breakage in Agitated Drying Conditions [PDF]
Particle breakage is an undesired phenomenon in the production chain of the pharmaceutical industry as it can strongly impact the product quality of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) e.g. dissolution rate and bioavailability.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Particle Breakage Characteristics of Granular Soils
ABSTRACT It is important to thoroughly understand the particle breakage phenomenon and to be able to comprehend quantitatively its effect with regard to engineering properties. In this paper, the particle breakage phenomenon observed during soil testing is investigated, and an attempt is made to clarify the particle breakage characteristics of ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Elastoplastic constitutive model for granular materials considering meso-particle damage
Establishing a constitutive model for granular materials that accounts for particle shape and breakage mechanisms has been crucial for calculating the mechanical stability of earth-rock dam projects. Initially, through the triaxial compression tests, the

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
