Heavy ion collisions: Correlations and Fluctuations in particle production
Correlations and fluctuations (the latter are directly related to the 2-particle correlations) is one of the important directions in analysis of heavy ion collisions.

Crossover behaviours exhibited by fluctuations and correlations in a chain of active particles [PDF]
Abstract We study the motion of tagged particles in a harmonic chain of active particles. We consider three models of active particle dynamics—run and tumble particle (RTP), active Ornstein–Uhlenbeck particle (AOUP) and active Brownian particle (ABP).

Hydrodynamics: Fluctuating initial conditions and two-particle correlations [PDF]
Event-by-event hydrodynamics (or hydrodynamics with fluctuating initial conditions) has been developed in the past few years. Here we discuss how it may help to understand the various structures observed in two-particle correlations.

Radial Diffusion of Planetary Radiation Belts’ Particles by Fluctuations with Finite Correlation Time [PDF]
Abstract Radial diffusion in planetary radiation belts is a dominant transport mechanism resulting in the energization and losses of charged particles by large-scale electromagnetic fluctuations. In this study, we revisit the radial diffusion formalism by relaxing the assumption of zero correlation time in the spectrum of fluctuations ...

Fluctuating initial conditions in hydrodynamics for two-particle correlations [PDF]
Event-by-event hydrodynamics, with fluctuating initial conditions, has shown to nicely reproduce several features of experimentally observed quantities in high-energy nuclear collisions. Here we discuss how it may help to understand, in a unified way, the various structures observed in the long-range two-particle correlations, both in nucleus-nucleus ...

Exchange-correlation energy from pairing matrix fluctuation and the particle-particle random-phase approximation [PDF]
Despite their unmatched success for many applications, commonly used local, semi-local, and hybrid density functionals still face challenges when it comes to describing long-range interactions, static correlation, and electron delocalization. Density functionals of both the occupied and virtual orbitals are able to address these problems.

Work fluctuations for a Brownian particle driven by a correlated external random force [PDF]
We have considered the underdamped motion of a Brownian particle in the presence of a correlated external random force. The force is modeled by an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. We investigate the fluctuations of the work done by the external force on the Brownian particle in a given time interval in the steady state.

Results on correlations and fluctuations from NA49 [PDF]
The large acceptance and high momentum resolution as well as the significant particle identification capabilities of the NA49 experiment at the CERN SPS allow for a broad study of fluctuations and correlations in hadronic interactions.

Event-by-event correlations and fluctuations with strongly intensive quantities in heavy-ion collisions with ALICE [PDF]
The strongly intensive quantity Σ is a new observable, introduced recently to the domain of heavy-ion physics. In superposition models which assume independent particle production from statistically identical sources, Σ is insensitive to the number of ...
