Two-particle correlations on transverse momentum: an untapped resource for studying relativistic heavy-ion collision dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Two-particle correlation projections onto two-dimensional transverse momentum coordinates (pt1, pt2) allow access to properties of the relativistic heavy-ion collision system which are complementary to that studied using angular correlations.

Jet evolution in a dense medium: event-by-event fluctuations and multi-particle correlations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of The European Physical Society Conference on High Energy Physics — PoS(EPS-HEP2017), 2017
Abstract We study the gluon distribution produced via successive medium-induced branchings by an energetic jet propagating through a weakly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. We show that under suitable approximations, the jet evolution is a Markovian stochastic process, which is exactly solvable.

Probing criticality with deep learning in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
Systems with different interactions could develop the same critical behavior due to the underlying symmetry and universality. Using this principle of universality, we can embed critical correlations modeled on the 3D Ising model into the simulated data ...

Correlations and fluctuations studied with ALICE

open access: yes, 2012
The measurement of particle correlations and event-by-event fluctuations of physical observables allows to study a large variety of properties of the matter produced in ultra relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Dynamics of a trapped Brownian particle in shear flows

open access: yes, 2010
The Brownian motion of a particle in a harmonic potential, which is simultaneously exposed either to a linear shear flow or to a plane Poiseuille flow is investigated.

Multiplicity Fluctuations in Au+Au Collisions at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the PHOBOS experiment, charged particles are measured in almost the full solid angle. This enables the study of fluctuations and correlations in the particle production over a very wide kinematic range.

Measurement of differential cross sections in the kinematic angular variable ϕ * for inclusive Z boson production in pp collisions at s = 8 $$ \sqrt{s}=8 $$ TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Measurements of differential cross sections dσ/dϕ * and double-differential cross sections d2 σ/dϕ *d|y| for inclusive Z boson production are presented using the dielectron and dimuon final states.

Fluctuations of anisotropic flow in Pb+Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{{\mathrm{s}}_{\mathrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Multi-particle azimuthal cumulants are measured as a function of centrality and transverse momentum using 470 μb−1 of Pb+Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. These cumulants provide information

NEGATIVE CORRELATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC VACUUM FLUCTUATIONS AND MOTION OF A CHARGED PARTICLE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics: Conference Series, 2012
The electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations seem to have a special property that since the self-force of a free charged particle in the semiclassical approximation is found insignificant, the velocity dispersion of the particle, caused by these fluctuations, do not grow without bound.

Two-particle azimuthal correlations as a probe of collective behaviour in deep inelastic ep scattering at HERA

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
Two-particle azimuthal correlations have been measured in neutral current deep inelastic ep scattering with virtuality Q 2 > 5 GeV2 at a centre-of-mass energy s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 318 GeV recorded with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The correlations of charged
