Minimal length and bouncing-particle spectrum [PDF]
In this paper we study the effects of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) on the spectrum of a particle that is bouncing vertically and elastically on a smooth reflecting floor in the Earth's gravitational field (a quantum bouncer). We calculate energy levels and corresponding wave functions of this system in terms of the GUP parameter.

Channel-length dependence of particle diffusivity in confinement
The diffusion coefficients of particles in finite open-ended channels are always higher than the prediction based on the conventional theoretical model of infinitely long channels when the flow is permitted through the channels.

Minimal length effects on motion of a particle in Rindler space * [PDF]
Abstract Various quantum theories of gravity predict the existence of a minimal measurable length. In this paper, we study effects of the minimal length on the motion of a particle in the Rindler space under a harmonic potential. This toy model captures key features of particle dynamics near a black hole horizon and allows us to make ...

Modelling braided river morphodynamics using a particle travel length framework [PDF]
Numerical models that predict channel evolution are an essential tool for investigating processes that occur over timescales which render field observation intractable.

Influence of a minimal length on the creation of scalar particles [PDF]
In this paper we have studied the problem of scalar particles pair creation by an electric field in the presence of a minimal length. Two sets of exact solutions for the Klein Gordon equation are given in momentum space. Then the canonical method based on Bogoliubov transformation connecting the "in" with the "out" states is applied to calculate the ...

Fundamental Lengths and Masses of Fundamental Particles [PDF]
CERTAIN considerations based on the principles of quantum mechanics lead to the view that the process of localization of a particle in space and time is subject to quantization. Thus if the world line of a particle of rest mass m0 is considered, it has no physical meaning to subdivide it into elements of length less than h/m0c, or, what is the same ...

Evolving Deep Convolutional Neural Networks by Variable-Length Particle Swarm Optimization for Image Classification [PDF]
Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are one of the most effective deep learning methods to solve image classification problems, but the best architecture of a CNN to solve a specific problem can be extremely complicated and hard to design.
