Model of Many-Particle Aggregation in Dense Particle Systems
The paper deals with the problem of describing many-particle aggregation in dense dispersed system without any limitation for the number of colliding clusters.

Fractional particle and sigma model
We introduce a classical fractional particle model in ℝ n , extending the Newtonian particle concept with the incorporation of the fractional Laplacian.

Particle-based Ising model [PDF]
We characterize equilibrium properties and relaxation dynamics of a two-dimensional lattice containing, at each site, two particles connected by a double-well potential (dumbbell). Dumbbells are oriented in the orthogonal direction with respect to the lattice plane and interact with each other through a Lennard-Jones potential truncated at the nearest ...

Circular/spherical rigid particle models that were initially applied to rock fracture studies were not able to match the ratio of the compressive strength to tensile strength that occurs in rock.

To predict the structural behaviour of ancient stone masonry walls is still a challenging task due to their strong heterogeneity. A rubble-stone masonry modeling methodology using a 2D particle model (2D-PM), based on the discrete element method is ...

Particle Creation and the Schwinger Model
We study the particle creation process in the Schwinger model coupled with an external classical source. One can approach the problem by taking advantage of the fact that the full quantized model is solvable and equivalent to a (massive) gauge field with a non-local effective action.

Decoherence in a two-particle model [PDF]
We consider a simple one-dimensional quantum system consisting of a heavy and a light particle interacting via a point interaction. The initial state is chosen to be a product state, with the heavy particle described by a coherent superposition of two spatially separated wave packets with opposite momentum and the light particle localized in the region

The number of studies evaluating flux or concentration footprints has grown considerably in recent years. These footprints are vital to understand surface–atmosphere flux measurements, for example by eddy covariance.

The structural rehabilitation of historic/traditional rubble masonry wall constructions requires consolidation and retrofitting solutions to be employed in order to withstand dynamic loads, high vertical loads, and differential settlements.

CALOGERO MODELS FOR DISTINGUISHABLE PARTICLES [PDF]
Motivated by topological bidimensional quantum models for distinguishable particles, and by Haldane's definition of mutual statistics for different species of particles, we propose a new class of one-dimensional [Formula: see text] Calogero model with coupling constants gij depending on the labels of the particles.
