Influence of manufacturing process on fundamental properties of NiCoCrAlY powders

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
NiCoCrAlY powders was prepared by plasma rotating electrode process (PREP), vacuum gas atomization (VGA) and agglomeration-sintering method (ASM), respectively.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Experimental study on effect of particle shape on erosion intermittenting graded soils using transparent soil

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
Internal erosion is one of the main causes of seepage damage in natural sediments or geotechnical structures. In the seepage process, particle shape is an important factor affecting the development of erosion in soil.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A tunable radial basis function model for nonlinear system identification using particle swarm optimisation

open access: yes, 2009
A tunable radial basis function (RBF) network model is proposed for nonlinear system identification using particle swarm optimisation (PSO). At each stage of orthogonal forward regression (OFR) model construction, PSO optimises one RBF unit's centre ...

Single Particle Mass Spectrometry and Inertial Imaging with Nanomechanical Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis work describes the development of a new technology for mass spectrometry using nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS-MS). Mass spectrometry is a technique used to identify molecules through mass measurement.

Influence of Particle Elongation and Aspect Ratio on the Discharge Behavior of a Flat-Bottom Silo

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal
Silos are widely used structures designed with hoppers or as flat bottoms to store different types of particulate materials (pellets, grains, powders, etc.). Although they have been used in industry for a long time, further research is needed.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Abradable DEM: A Novel Framework to Capture the Mechanistic Evolution of Particle Shape

open access: yes
Although various methods exist for modelling non-spherical particles in DEM, particles’ shapes are usually treated as immutable. However, particles often change shape gradually, e.g., due to abrasion or accrued plastic deformation.

A convolution particle filtering approach for tracking elliptical extended objects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper proposes a convolution particle filtering approach for extended object tracking. Convolution particle filters (CPFs) are likelihood free filters. They are based on convolution kernel probability density representation.
