The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

The distribution of settling velocity of non-spherical mineral particles [PDF]
The settling velocity is an independent variable of the hydraulic separation performed for instance by means of jigs. Therefore, the settling velocity characterizes the material forwarded to the separation process.

Bedload transport in rivers, size matters but so does shape
Bedload transport modelling in rivers takes into account the size and density of pebbles to estimate particle mobility, but does not formally consider particle shape.

Shape of Small Particles [PDF]
I REGRET that the index 2 was omitted from one of the β's in the denominator of equation (19) in my article published in Nature under the above title1; this was due to an error in the analysis which escaped me and was later detected by Mr. J. Cartwright of the Safety in Mines Research Establishment when applying the method to coal dust.

Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Shear strength of angular granular materials with size and shape polydispersity
Shear strength characterization of coarse granular materials often requires modifying the original material in order to fit samples in standard testing devices.

Simulating three dimensional self-assembly of shape modified particles using magnetic dipolar forces [PDF]
The feasibility of 3D self-assembly of milli-magnetic particles that interact via magnetic dipolar forces is investigated. Typically magnetic particles, such as isotropic spheres, self-organize in stable 2D configurations.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
