Role of Interlayer Expansion and Surface Chelation in Ternary NiCuAl Layered Double Hydroxides for Ultrahigh Capacity Dye Adsorption

An engineered ternary NiCuAl LDH achieves an extremely high qmax of 6628 mg g−1 for Eriochrome Black T. The synergy of the 8.58 Å interlayer spacing and robust surface chelation at multi‐metallic centers establishes a new adsorbent‐design framework for the ultra‐high‐performance remediation of bulky anionic pollutants.
