Input of particulate heavy metals from rivers and associated sedimentary deposits on the Gulf of Lion continental shelf [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Fluxes of the heavy metals chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) delivered by rivers to the Gulf of Lion (NW Mediterranean Sea) were estimated over a three year study of the River Rhone and its ...

Study on Mercury in PM10 at an Urban Site in the Central Indo-Gangetic Plain: Seasonal Variability and Influencing Factors

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research, 2020
Mercury (Hg) is among the most toxic metals possessing a major threat to human health and aquatic ecosystems over the globe. However, measurement of Hg concentrations and seasonal variability remain poorly understood over the Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP) in

Monodisperse Condensed Tannin and Derived Carbon Nanospheres Featuring Well‐Defined Surface‐Structured Metal Species

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Uniform, size‐tunable polyphenol nanospheres are assembled from condensed tannins in water at ambient conditions via controlled supramolecular interactions between tannin and diamines. Their phenolic–amine surfaces template highly dispersed metal species that resist sintering during pyrolysis.

Mercury in ambient air: a review on sources, speciation, legislation and measurement methods

open access: yesAsian Journal of Atmospheric Environment
Mercury being a neurotoxin poses great threat to the human health as well as environment. It is emitted into the atmosphere through both natural and anthropogenic sources and can travel long distances over time before being scavenged and deposited in the

Pristine Poly(3‐hexylthiophene) as an On‐Demand Conductive Binder and Redox Mediator for Carbon‐Additive‐Free, High‐Volumetric‐Energy‐Density, LiFePO4 Cathodes without Calendaring

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Pristine P3HT enables carbon‐additive‐free LiFePO4 cathodes by acting as an on‐demand conductive binder and redox mediator. Electrochemical doping and strong P3HT‐LFP interactions build efficient conductive pathways, stabilize interfaces, and deliver high volumetric energy density without calendaring.

Membrane Gas Separation for CO2 Capture From Flue Gas: Materials, Modules, Processes, and Application Prospects for Coal‐Fired Power Plant Retrofitting

open access: yesSafety Science and Technology, EarlyView.
This review systematically covers the full CO₂ flue gas membrane separation chain, finding it cuts energy use by ∼30% versus amine methods, yet faces stability and cost hurdles for large‐scale application. ABSTRACT As global climate change becomes increasingly severe, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies have emerged as a ...

Large‐Scale Applications of Plasma Technologies: Progresses and Challenges

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasma technologies convert electrical power into energetic electrons, ions, reactive species, radiation and heat, thereby breaking through the bottleneck of purely thermal or chemical routes and bringing impressive changes to our world. This roadmap reviews the progress and challenges of plasma technologies from a large‐scale and application ...

Profits Lost in the Haze: Evidence From Wildfire Smoke Bénéfices perdus dans la brume : données issues de la fumée des feux de forêt

open access: yesContemporary Accounting Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Whereas prior studies primarily examine how environmental shocks affect manufacturing, distribution, and supply chains, we examine a distinct and understudied channel: the effect of wildfire smoke on human capital operating from firm headquarters.
