Colloidal Opaline Composites as Throughput‐Scalable, Fully Transparent, and Color‐Tunable Radiative Cooling Exterior Films for Outdoor Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Particular thermal metamaterials are widely used as daytime radiative coolers merely by embedding thermally emissive nanoparticles (NPs) in liquid resins to form scalable, yet highly efficient cooling films in a cost‐effective way. However, randomly dispersed NPs, prevalently used thus far, cause strong scattering, limiting NP content and cooling ...

Atmospheric respiratory CO2 efflux by aquatic suspended particle-bound microbial communities: A laboratory experimental study

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Natural sources of atmospheric CO2 are of increasing interest as possible contributors to global climate warming. This study documents the amount of respiratory CO2 contributed by microbial communities associated with suspended particulates in aquatic ...

The air quality impact of cordon and distance based road user charging: an empirical study of Leeds, U.K [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Traffic assignment, pollutant emission and dispersion models were applied to a major UK city so as to assess the air quality impacts of five road pricing schemes.

Single‐Step Electrochemical Battery Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the use of single‐step recovery, an electrochemical process combining electrodeposition and electro‐dissolution, to recover lithiated transition metal oxides (LTMOs). The batteries produced through this recycling method perform similarly to batteries made from pristine materials.

Development of asthmatic inflammation in mice following early-life exposure to ambient environmental particulates and chronic allergen challenge

open access: yesDisease Models & Mechanisms, 2013
SUMMARY Childhood exposure to environmental particulates increases the risk of development of asthma. The underlying mechanisms might include oxidant injury to airway epithelial cells (AEC).

Rotational kinetics of absorbing dust grains in neutral gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We study the rotational and translational kinetics of massive particulates (dust grains) absorbing the ambient gas. Equations for microscopic phase densities are deduced resulting in the Fokker-Planck equation for the dust component.

Tailored Reconstruction of Polycrystalline CuO Nanorods Promotes C─C Coupling in CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the polycrystallinity of CuO nanorods enables directional reconstruction into rod‐like structures that stabilize Cu(OH)2 and increase Cu+ ratios, while modulating interfacial water dynamics to enhance C─C coupling and boost C2+ product formation in CO2 electroreduction.
