Mercury Sorption and Desorption on Organo-Mineral Particulates as a Source for Microbial Methylation.

Environmental Science and Technology, 2019
In natural freshwater and sediments, mercuric mercury (Hg(II)) is largely associated with particulate minerals and organics, but it remains unclear under what conditions particulates may become a sink or a source for Hg(II) and whether the particulate ...

Numerical modelling of supersonic boundary-layer receptivity to solid particulates

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2018
Atmospheric particulates may be a major source of boundary-layer instabilities leading to laminar–turbulent transition on aerodynamically smooth bodies flying at supersonic speeds.

Calcium polyphosphate particulates for bone void filler applications.

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research. Part B - Applied biomaterials, 2017
This study investigates the characteristics of porous calcium polyphosphate particulates (CPPp) formed using two different processing treatments as bone void fillers in non- or minimally load-bearing sites.

Contribution of Particulates to Airborne Disease Transmission and Severity: A Review.

Environmental Science and Technology
The emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has catalyzed great interest in the spread of airborne pathogens. Airborne infectious diseases are classified into viral, bacterial, and fungal infections.

Instant visual detection of trinitrotoluene particulates on various surfaces by ratiometric fluorescence of dual-emission quantum dots hybrid.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2011
To detect trace trinitrotoluene (TNT) explosives deposited on various surfaces instantly and on-site still remains a challenge for homeland security needs against terrorism. This work demonstrates a new concept and its utility for visual detection of TNT

Airborne Particulates in the OR Environment

AORN Journal, 1999
ABSTRACTIntraoperative sampling of airborne particulates is rarely performed in teh OR environment because of technical difficulties associated with sampling methodologies and because of the common belief that airborne contamination is infrequently associated with surgical site infections (SSIs).

Particulate and Immunity

2014
It is known that some particulates and crystals stimulate the immune system to induce inflammatory responses. Nanometer- to micrometer-sized crystal, sphere, and hydrogel forms of aluminum salts (referred to as “alum”) have been used as vaccine adjuvants to enhance antibody responses in animals and humans.

Particules inconnues. I

Bulletin de la Classe des sciences, 1960
The possible existence of undiscovered elementary particles is discussed. The electric charge Q and the « neutrinonic charge » R, introduced in a preceding paper (x), are given for two such particles, which are baryons : Q = 1, R = 0 and Q = -1, R = -2 ; for the newly discovered D-meson, they are Q = 1, R = 1.
