Effect of mycoviruses on the virulence of Fusarium circinatum and laccase activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Producción CientíficaLaccase enzymes (benzenediol: oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.10.3.2) play a major role in the degradation of phenolic compounds such as lignin.

Coat protein of partitiviruses isolated from mycorrhizal fungi functions as an RNA silencing suppressor in plants and fungi

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Orchid seeds depend on colonization by orchid mycorrhizal (OM) fungi for their germination; therefore, the orchids and OM fungi have long maintained a close relationship (e.g., formation of the hyphal mass structure, peloton) during their evolution.

Phenotypic Recovery of a Heterobasidion Isolate Infected by a Debilitation-Associated Virus Is Related to Altered Host Gene Expression and Reduced Virus Titer

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
The fungal genus Heterobasidion includes forest pathogenic species hosting a diverse group of partitiviruses. They include the host debilitating Heterobasidion partitivirus 13 strain an1 (HetPV13-an1), which was originally observed in a slowly growing H.

Mikovirus, Pengembangannya sebagai Agens Pengendali Hayati [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mycoviruses are viruses that infect fungus. In plant pathogenic fungi, mycoviruses infection may cause hypovirulence. Therefore, mycoviruses could be developed as biological control agents against the plant pathogenic fungi. Abroad, mycoviruses have long

A Novel Partitivirus in the Hypovirulent Isolate QT5-19 of the Plant Pathogenic Fungus Botrytis cinerea

open access: yesViruses, 2019
A pink isolate (QT5-19) of Botrytis cinerea was compared with three gray isolates of B. cinerea for growth and morphogenesis on potato dextrose agar (PDA), and for pathogenicity on tobacco.

Occurrence of double-stranded RNA species in champignon and their relation to Mushroom Virus X symptoms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Mycoviruses are known to infect fungi of different habitats and life style. Some of them, like the Mushroom Virus X (MVX) complex, cause abnormal development of fruiting bodies and severe yield losses in mushroom cultivation.

Sequence determination of a satellite RNA isolated from Aspergillus foetidus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Aspergillus foetidus virus (AfV) has at least two distinct particle types, designated as AfV-fast (F) and AfV-slow (S). AfV-S includes AfV-S1, a victorivirus; AfV-S2, an unclassified satellite RNA; and AfV-S3, a previously uncharacterized dsRNA element ...

Genome organization of a partitivirus from the filamentous ascomycete Atkinsonella hypoxylon

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1995
We have identified viruses in several isolates of the filamentous ascomycete Atkinsonella hypoxylon. The virus from one isolate of the fungus, 2H, was selected for genomic characterization. Purified virus particles contained three dsRNAs with sizes estimated by gel electrophoresis to be 2.2, 2.1 and 1.8 kb.

Coding-Complete Genome Sequence of a Partitivirus Isolated from Pine Processionary Moth Eggs

open access: yesMicrobiology Resource Announcements, 2021
Two coding-complete nucleotide sequences of a partitivirus (family Partitiviridae ) were discovered in transcriptomic data sets obtained from eggs of the Lepidoptera Thaumetopoea pityocampa .
