The genus Passiflora L. is the most representative of Passifloraceae, with over 500 known species, among which 150-200 originated from Brazil. In addition to the great commercial importance of this genus for the fruit market, many of the species have exotic flowers with a huge diversity of colors and can thereby be exploited as ornamental plants.

The Molecular Cochaperone NbSGT1 May Function as an Endogenous Suppressor of RNA Silencing That Is Recruited by a Potyvirus in Infection of Plants

The molecular co‐chaperone NbSGT1 interacts with potyviral HC‐Pro and promotes viral infection in plants. Notably, (1) NbSGT1 enhances the RSS activity of HC‐Pro and (2) NbSGT1 acts as an endogenous suppressor of RNA silencing (ESR), suppressing RNA silencing in plants.

Revaluation of Granadilla (Passiflora ligularis): Analysis of Phenolic Compounds and Their Antioxidant Activity

This study is aimed at evaluating the effect of solvents such as ethanol and methanol on the extraction of phenolic compounds with antioxidant capacity from granadilla (Passiflora ligularis). Extraction was assisted with ultrasound (40 kHz, 30°C). The sample‐to‐solvent ratio was 1:14, and extraction was performed separately for seeds and peels.
