Discrimination Among New Vegetative Materials of Passiflora edulis Sims. From Canary Islands by Their Volatile Profile

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 365-383, March 2025.
The volatile compound profiling of different passion fruit samples grown in the Canary Islands is performed by HS‐SPME‐GC–MS, while applying novel green metrics to show sustainability, and with linear discrimination analysis able to discriminate a new variety. ABSTRACT This study shows the successful discrimination among different passion fruit samples

Enhancing leaf lettuce growth and phytochemical composition under continuous light and elevated NH4+:NO3− ratios

open access: yesUrban Agriculture &Regional Food Systems, Volume 10, Issue 1, 2025.
Abstract Production of leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in plant factories with artificial lighting is becoming more common, but there is a need for technologies that can increase crop productivity, decrease production costs, and add value. We hypothesized that the use of a 24‐h photoperiod (continuous lighting [CL]) and NH4‐N applications could ...
