Compatibility in pollen-pistil interaction of interspecific crossings with Passiflora spp. [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2020
Intraspecies or interspecies crossings transfer relevant alleles between plants. However, some interspecies crossings involving Passiflora species impede ovule fertilization and the viable development of seeds. Thus, the purpose of this study was to verify the viability of interspecific crossings and monitor pollen tube development.

Fruit respiration: putting alternative pathways into perspective

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Over the past century, research has significantly advanced our understanding of fruit respiration, from (eco)physiological processes to molecular mechanisms. This review focuses on the functional relevance and regulatory roles of mitochondrial alternative respiratory pathways (ARPs) during fruit growth and ripening.

Uncovering the Key Factors Influencing Phytochemical and Phytopharmacological Properties During Medicinal Plant Processing

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
From farm to pharma, this review details the engineering of quality in medicinal plants through a science‐driven approach: it first elucidates how genetic and environmental factors inscribe the plant's phytochemical and phytopharmacological profile before harvest, and then dissects the postharvest techniques and technologies—chemical and thermal pre ...

Seleção de espécies de Passiflora inoculadas com o vírus do mosaico do caupi revela a imunidade de uma espécie selvagem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus (CABMV) is a potyvirus that causes the most serious virus disease of passion fruit crops in Brazil. It is transmitted by several species of aphids in a non-persistent, non-circulative manner.

Floristic Diversity of Riparian and Associated Vegetation Along the Amnay River (The Philippines)

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Riparian vegetation plays a critical role in maintaining ecological integrity along river corridors, yet it is highly sensitive to changes in hydrological and geomorphic conditions, particularly in sediment‐influenced tropical river systems.

Cleomaceae: diversity and potential of a model family for studies on the evolution of photosynthesis

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 6-17, January 2026.
The Cleomaceae family integrates floral diversity, physiological plasticity, and the evolution of C4 photosynthesis, serving as an important model to investigate plant adaptation and evolutionary innovation. Abstract Understanding the physiological and molecular mechanisms by which plants adapt to environmental factors is essential for improving crop ...
