First-Principles Study on Various Point Defects Formed by Hydrogen and Helium Atoms in Tungsten
The different point defects formed by two hydrogen atoms or two helium atoms in tungsten were investigated through first-principles calculation. The energetically favorable site for a hydrogen atom is tetrahedral interstitial site while substitutional ...

A multi band mini printed omni directional antenna with v-shaped for RFID applications [PDF]
This paper presents a mini multi-band printed omni-directional antenna with v-shaped structure for radio frequency identification (RFID) applications. The proposed multi-band antenna is developed from the initial v-shaped design which is only capable of ...

Non-blind watermarking of network flows [PDF]
Linking network flows is an important problem in intrusion detection as well as anonymity. Passive traffic analysis can link flows but requires long periods of observation to reduce errors. Active traffic analysis, also known as flow watermarking, allows

Passive directors in turbulence
In experiments and numerical simulations we measured angles between the symmetry axes of small spheroids advected in turbulence ("passive directors"). Since turbulent strains tend to align nearby spheroids, one might think that their relative angles are ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Time-Dependent Reliability Analysis of Mechanical Structures using an Analytical Approach [PDF]
Time-dependent reliability analysis of mechanical structures is concerned by the use of an outcrossing approach. In this approach the so-called outcrossing rate plays a critical role and thus it is important to estimate it as straight ward as possible ...

Hydrodynamic Collective Effects of Active Protein Machines in Solution and Lipid Bilayers
The cytoplasm and biomembranes in biological cells contain large numbers of proteins that cyclically change their shapes. They are molecular machines that can function as molecular motors or carry out many other tasks in the cell.
