Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A Passive Balance-of-Payments Strategy for the United States [PDF]

open access: yesBrookings Papers on Economic Activity, 1970
WHILE THE INTERNATIONAL MONETARY SYSTEM iS constantly evolving, most changes are relatively minor so that certain periods of history can be characterized by a particular monetary standard. The best description of current monetary arrangements is the dollar standard.

A Simple Passive Scalar Advection-Diffusion Model

open access: yes, 1998
This paper presents a simple, one-dimensional model of a randomly advected passive scalar. The model exhibits anomalous inertial range scaling for the structure functions constructed from scalar differences. The model provides a simple computational test

Lyapunov Balancing for Passivity-Preserving Model Reduction of RC Circuits [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems, 2011
We apply Lyapunov-based balanced truncation model reduction method to differential-algebraic equations arising in modeling of RC circuits. This method is based on diagonalizing the solution of one projected Lyapunov equation. It is shown that this method preserves passivity and delivers an error bound.

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

A Mutual Inductance–Capacitance IPOS-Type Self-Balancing LLC Resonant Converter

open access: yesEnergies
In low-voltage-input, high-voltage-output applications, the input-parallel output-series (IPOS) LLC resonant converter experiences voltage and current imbalances due to parameter mismatches in resonant tank components.

Remote Monitoring in Myasthenia Gravis: Exploring Symptom Variability

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare, autoimmune disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness and potential life‐threatening crises. While continuous specialized care is essential, access barriers often delay timely interventions. To address this, we developed MyaLink, a telemedical platform for MG patients.
