Forward scatter radar mode for passive coherent location systems
The transfer of the forward scatter concept to passive coherent location systems provides an emerging area of research. This paper investigates aspects of such a system through analysis and discussion of previous dedicated forward scatter radar research, showing that indeed the addition of a forward scatter channel to existing passive systems would ...

Polarimetric passive coherent location
In this paper the exploitation of different linear polarimetric channels is considered as a way to mitigate the effect of interfering sources and to improve the target detection capability in an FM radio-based passive radar. The signals emitted on same/adjacent frequency channels by potential transmitters (other than the illuminator of opportunity ...

A multistatic passive coherent location system with receiver location constraints
A multistatic passive coherent location system has been designed during an eight month lasting trial starting in the end of 2015. The demonstration system exploits the regional single-frequency network (SFN) of DVB-T transmissions from two transmit stations in the area of Munich, Germany.

Robust Passive Coherent Location via Nonlinearly Constrained Least Squares
This paper addresses the problem of target location by means of a passive radar. Existing approaches based on time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements, namely spherical interpolation and spherical intersection, are revisited for the case of single transmitter and multiple receivers.

On angle estimation in GSM passive coherent location systems
The paper discusses the angle of arrival (AOA) estimation task in GSM based passive coherent location (PCL) systems that bases on the scan pattern maximization method. Being optimal at maximum likelihood (ML) sense for the continuous case, this method may degrade if only discrete values of the pattern are available and the scan rate is low.

Acceleration estimation for Passive Coherent Location radar
2008 IEEE Radar Conference, 2008The paper presents a method for estimation of acceleration in passive coherent location (PCL) radar. The method is based on the Generalized Chirp Transform, which is a maximum likelihood estimator in this case. The authors propose a fast and efficient algorithm for calculating acceleration by filtering a two-dimensional range-Doppler surface.
