Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Effect of NaClO disinfection/cleaning on passive films on AISI 316L [PDF]
316 L stainless steel samples were passivated in NaClO containing solutions in order to simulate disinfection processes. Passive films were grown at the open circuit potential by immersion in NaClO aqueous solutions at different concentrations and ...

Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Microbiology and Quality Attributes of ‘Pione’ Grapes Stored in Passive and Active MAP
The quality of ‘Pione’ grapes was evaluated during passive and active modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) storage. In the passive MAP study, ‘Pione’ grapes were packaged in two types of films with an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of either 440 mL/m2/d ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Change of n-type to p-type conductivity of the semiconductor passive film on N-steel: Enhancement of the pitting corrosion resistance [PDF]
The electrochemically-assisted modification of the N-austenitic stainless steel (ASS N25) surface was successfully employed to improve barrier properties of the passive film in a chloride containing solution. The chemical composition, electronic

Role of Intrinsic Electron Trapping in Negative Charging of Amorphous Alumina
Intrinsic electron trapping in amorphous Al2O3 is examined using hybrid‐DFT models spanning a wide density range. Both spontaneous and thermally activated trapping are identified, with pronounced spontaneous localization in dense, partly crystallized structures.
