A study of some thin transition metal oxide films

open access: yes, 1989
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. This thesis analyses the effect of varying the compositions of co-evaporated V205/TeO2, W03/CeO2, SiO/TeO2 and W03/TeO2 amorphous thin films on their ...

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Electrochemical Behavior and Compositions of Passive Films of Amorphous Ni-P Coating in Acidic Environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
Amorphous Ni-P coating without pores was prepared by electroless plating. The electrochemical behavior of the as-plated Ni-P coating was investigated by potentiodynamic testing in 5 wt. % sulfuric acid solution. Results indicated that the high-phosphorus

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Chromate-Free Passive Films Made by Manganate and Waterborne Polyurethane on Galvanized Steel Sheets

open access: yes, 2010
In order to develop an environmental friendly passive films on galvanized steel sheet, a chromium-free passive solution based on waterborne polyurethane (WPU) and Manganate was studied. The results show that the optimized compositions in passive solution

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Rationally Designed Bilayer Passivation Strategy for High‐Performance Vacuum‐Processed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bilayer “Anchor‐and‐Seal” passivation strategy using EDAI2 and 4MeO‐PEAI effectively mitigates surface defects in vacuum‐processed perovskite films through synergistic hydrogen bonding and Lewis base coordination. This approach optimizes interfacial energy alignment and suppresses non‐radiative recombination, enabling vacuum‐deposited p‐i‐n ...
