Passive Filter Tuning for Harmonic Resonance Mitigation in Wind Parks
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2023Harmonic resonances are an important concern in wind parks as they can lead to fines due to violations of regulatory harmonic distortion limits at the point of common coupling (PCC) with the grid, unwanted outages, and potential damage to wind park and ...

Passive Harmonic Filter Design Considering Voltage Sag Performance - Applicable to Large Industries
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2022Nowadays, nonlinear loads such as load commutated inverter (LCI) drives are being used by industrial sector throughout the world. However, despite the LCI drive uses low-cost thyristors and their corresponding controllers, which have high efficiency and ...

Single-Phase Multicell AC–DC Converter With Optimized Controller and Passive Filter Parameters
IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019This paper presents a novel single-phase multicell converter for ac–dc power conversion, which is formed by a series connection of several full-bridge converter stages through passive components.

Quasi-passive filter for harmonic filtering
Electric Power Systems Research, 2008To overcome the limitations of conventional shunt passive filters, a quasi-passive filter has been proposed in this paper. It comprises of a parallel and series tuned LC tank circuit. Unlike the conventional shunt passive filter, the quasi-passive filter utilizes a large value ac capacitor.

A critical study of various types of passive notch filters is made. The distributed parameter notch filters are found to be superior in performance as compared to the lumped RC and lumped-distributed types. The frequency response curves indicate that tapering in distributed notch filters improves the notch selectivity.

Novel passive recursive CCD bandpass filters have been realized using standard two-level-polysilicon gate NMOS technology. A Chebyshev bandpass (w/SUB rel,/ /SUB 3/ /SUB dB/=3.1 percent) and a fully integrated CCD signal filter with an extremely narrow 3 dB bandwidth of 97 Hz (Q=1350) at 131.85 kHz center frequency were implemented by means of cascaded

Multi-output passive digital filters
2004 IEEE Electro/Information Technology Conference, 2004In this paper, a new family of four multi-output second-order passive digital filters constructed from four passive digital two-ports are presented. The conditions for passivity in a passive digital two-port are first defined. Four passive two-ports are introduced, their passivity and stability constraints on coefficients, and pseudopower expressions ...

Passive waveguide filters on InP
Frontiers in Optics, 2003Passive IIR filters in InGaAsP/InP waveguides were realized using ring resonators and photonic crystal cavities. The filter response of the fabricated devices was characterized by transmission and group delay measurements. Dispersion larger than 100 ps/nm was achieved with a ring resonator having a free spectral range of 100 GHz.
