Upgrading and extending PON by using in-band WDM overlay
This paper presents a new approach to upgrade and extend the reach of the current passive optical network (PON) by using wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) in the standardized optical grid of gigabit PON (In-band WDM PON overlay).

From modular COF design to biomedical translation, this Review maps how linkage chemistry, topology, pore environment, and particle engineering govern bioperformance, therapeutic and diagnostic function, safety, and clinical readiness. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a versatile class of crystalline porous materials with growing potential in ...

Crip Spaces For and With Disabled Filipinos: Mapping Bodies, Lands and Disasters in the Philippines
ABSTRACT In disaster settings, disabled people are often framed as passive recipients of aid, to be integrated into pre‐existing response mechanisms. This paper challenges that framing by centring disabled bodyminds and the crip‐for‐crip strategies that sustain survival amidst chronic disaster.

Biofloc technology and periphyton‐based systems enhance the sustainable production of giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). A PRISMA‐guided review (2005 – 2024) shows that BFT improves survival (75 – 78 %) and feed efficiency, while periphyton supports natural productivity in grow‐out.

Survivable and Reliable WDM-PON System With Self-Protected Mechanism Against Fiber Fault
In the paper, we present and design a self-restored wavelength multiplexing division passive optical network (WDM-PON) configuration to prevent the fiber failure and data disconnection.

Global and Regional Vigilance: Are There Two Types of Local Sleep?
The term local sleep as it is used in the literature is confusing and probably consists of two types of brain states. The first one originates from increased activity in certain cortical areas during waking, resulting in increased activity in the slow‐waves range in that same area during subsequent NREM sleep. The second one consists of local states in

ABSTRACT Introduction Research to understand the role of social media use (SMU) in explaining deteriorating adolescent mental health has been limited by broad, nonspecific measures of social media use, specifically ‘time spent on social media’. These measures provide insufficient detail to capture specific risk and protective factors to users.

In this paper, we propose a novel method for low-latency 10-Gigabit-capable symmetric passive optical network (XGS-PON) mobile front-haul for small cell cloud radio access network (C-RAN) based on traffic estimation. In this method, the number of packets
