In this paper we introduce a new notion of passivity which we call Krasovskii's passivity and provide a sufficient condition for a system to be Krasovskii's passive. Based on this condition, we investigate classes of port-Hamiltonian and gradient systems which are Krasovskii's passive.

Passivity, complete passivity, and virtual temperatures [PDF]
We give a simple and intuitive proof that the only states which are completely passive, i.e., those states from which work cannot be extracted even with infinitely many copies, are Gibbs states at positive temperatures. The proof makes use of the idea of virtual temperatures, i.e., the association of temperatures to pairs of energy levels (transitions).

Passivity-Based Analysis and Design of Linear Voltage Controllers For Voltage-Source Converters
This article presents a systematic evaluation on the impedance passivity of voltage-controlled voltage-source converters. The commonly used single- and dual-loop control structures with different linear controllers are compared extensively, considering ...

Passivity and Decentralized Stability Conditions for Grid-Forming Converters [PDF]
We prove that the popular grid-forming control, i.e., dispatchable virtual oscillator control (dVOC), also termed complex droop control, exhibits output-feedback passivity in its large-signal model, featuring an explicit and physically meaningful ...

A Passivity-Based Approach to Nash Equilibrium Seeking Over Networks [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the problem of distributed Nash equilibrium (NE) seeking over networks, a setting in which players have limited local information on the others’ decisions.

Before 1980 the argument that passive smoking was a serious health hazard was rather tenuous. It was claimed that it produced allergic reactions, impaired driving ability, reduced exercise tolerance in patients with cardiorespiratory disease and increased the risk of bronchitis and pneumonia in first-year children.

Discrete port-controlled Hamiltonian dynamics and average passivation [PDF]
The paper discusses the modeling and control of port-controlled Hamiltonian dynamics in a pure discrete-time domain. The main result stands in a novel differential-difference representation of discrete port-controlled Hamiltonian systems using the ...
