Effects of Aging, Estimated Fitness, and Cerebrovascular Status on White Matter Microstructural Health

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 5, 01 April 2025.
White matter (WM) health declines with age and improves with estimated fitness. However, the effects of age and estimated fitness do not completely overlap spatially. Cerebrovascular health mediates the relationships of WM health with both age and estimated fitness. Males show steeper declines in WM health than females.

Quantifying Localized and Delocalized Rock Deformation in Multi‐Stage Relaxation Experiments Using Distributed Optical Fiber Sensing

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Multi‐stage uniaxial and triaxial stress relaxation tests were performed on Weschnitz granodiorite, Beishan granite, and Jinping dolomite marble to investigate the deformation evolution before system‐size failure, and to study stress relaxation responses.

Hygrothermal Static Bending and Deflection Responses of Porous Multidirectional Nanofunctionally Graded Piezoelectric (NFGP) Plates With Variable Thickness on Elastic Foundations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, Volume 5, Issue 1, Page 40-66, March 2025.
ABSTRACT This research article introduces a high‐order finite element model based on the first‐order shear deformation theory to analyze the hygrothermal static responses of nanoscale, multidirectional nanofunctionally graded piezoelectric (NFGP) plates resting on variable elastic foundations. The study considers the material properties of these plates,

Doublet structural modeling of nonhomogeneous Euler mass sensor nanobeams using boundary characteristics Bernstein Polynomials

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 105, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract This study investigates the doublet structural model for analyzing nonhomogeneous Euler mass sensor nanobeams, incorporating the concept of doublet mechanics alongside Bernstein polynomials (BPs). BPs serve as basic functions within the Rayleigh–Ritz method, facilitating conversional governing equations into a geikneralized Eigenvalue problem.
