Large amplitude free vibrations of cylindrical shell on Pasternak foundations
International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 1993Abstract A large amplitude free vibration analysis of non-circular cylindrical shells on Pasternak foundations has been carried out using a new approach due to Sinharay and Banerjee. A modified energy expression for deriving the differential equations for a cylindrical shell on Pasternak foundations is used.

Buckling of cracked functionally graded plates supported by Pasternak foundation
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2014Abstract Buckling of cracked functionally graded plates resting on Pasternak foundation under tension has been studied. Classical plate theory in framework of the finite element method has been used. Shape functions for elements surrounding crack tips have been derived using previous solutions of displacement fields around crack tips.

Large deflection response of annular plates on Pasternak foundations
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1991Abstract The influence of the elastic foundation configuration on the large deflection axisymmetric response of cylindrically orthotropic thin annular plates is examined for uniformly distributed loads. The solution of the dynamic form of the Von Karman type equations governing the behaviour of the system is obtained using a fourth order finite ...

Vibration attenuation in periodic composite Timoshenko beams on Pasternak foundation
Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2011Periodic and quasi-periodic Timoshenko beams on Pasternak foundation are investigated using the differential quadrature method. Not only band gaps in the beams but also the dynamic response of them is analyzed. Numerical results show that vibration in periodic beams can be dramatically attenuated when the exciting frequency falls into band gaps ...

Influence Surface Coefficients of Plates Resting on Pasternak Foundation
2022In this study, internal force influence surface coefficients of plates resting on Pasternak foundation are obtained using the finite element method applying the classical Müller-Breslau Principle. The two-parameter elastic foundation is represented by the inclusion of the elastic bedding and shear parameter matrix terms of a 4-noded soil finite element

A Timoshenko-beam-on-Pasternak-foundation analogy for cylindrical shells
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2003Abstract A Timoshenko-beam-on-Pasternak-foundation model is developed for the analysis of thin elastic cylindrical shells. This model aims to bridge the gap between the Love–Kirchhoff theory and the approximate beam-on-elastic-foundation model of Vlasov (“long-wave” model), which accounts for only longitudinal stretching and circumferential bending ...
