PAT Selection

2017
The main rules for the selection of the regulation mode of a PAT based on the operating conditions are presented, as measured at the point of the network where the power plant will be located. The variability of operating conditions in water supply networks is discussed and the influence of the daily demand variation of the flow rate and available head

The PAT randomized clinical trial.

The Bone & Joint Journal, 2020
AIMS A pragmatic, single-centre, double-blind randomized clinical trial was conducted in a NHS teaching hospital to evaluate whether there is a difference in functional knee scores, quality-of-life outcome assessments, and complications at one-year after

Blade trailing edge position influencing pump as turbine (PAT) pressure field under part-load conditions

Renewable Energy, 2019
Small hydropower is the most preferred clean energy technology, especially in remote areas away from national electrical grid reach. Within these plants, Pump as Turbines (PATs) suffer from a very small range of optimum operating conditions, leading to a

Installation of an axial Pump-as-Turbine (PaT) in a wastewater sewer of an oil refinery: A case study

Applied Energy, 2019
This paper analyses an energy recovery solution based on the Pump-as-Turbine (PaT) technology applied in an oil refinery. Since under-ground water might be contaminated by the chemical processes, an intervention named “Pump & Treat” was adopted in the ...

Parents as Teachers (PAT) home-visiting intervention: A path to improved academic outcomes, school behavior, and parenting skills

Children and youth services review, 2019
The time from conception to young childhood is crucial in terms of brain-, social-, emotional-, and cognitive-development. Given the impact that parenting has on child developmental outcomes, home-visiting programs may be a viable means of improving ...

ICAS-PAT: A software for design, analysis and validation of PAT systems

Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2010
Abstract In chemicals based product manufacturing, as in pharmaceutical, food and agrochemical industries, efficient and consistent process monitoring and analysis systems (PAT systems) have a very important role. These PAT systems ensure that the chemicals based product is manufactured with the specified end product qualities. In an earlier article,

Pit-a-Pat, Pit-a-Pat

1992
I stood watching Enrico Fermi, in a large room beneath Stagg Field at the University of Chicago. It was midafternoon on Wednesday, December 2, 1942. The United States was fighting the Second World War. To win that war, we felt we needed to make an atomic bomb.

Application of PAT Technology

2017
A number of existing hydropower plants are described, which have a power generation capacity ranging between a few kW and a hundred kW, thus proving the extreme flexibility of PAT technology. Several different designs are shown, with the best solution depending on the power plant data and on the problem constraints.
