Development of a design load patch for the consideration of ice loads
Ships and Offshore Structures, 2020Ships operating in ice-covered waters may experience structural damage due to ice-induced loads. This can occur even though the ship structure is designed according to rules considering ice loading. The basis of these design rules can be empirical, e.g.

Slotted patch antenna loaded with ferrite
2016 5th International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems (ICMCS), 2016This study presents the investigation on the effect of rectangular slot on resonance frequency, return loss and band widths, gain and directivity of rectangular microstrip patch antenna. The design is achieved by cutting the rectangular slots at the radiating element of the patch antenna; in the other step we loaded the films of ferrite between the ...

Miniatured annular ring loaded patch antennas
2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007The proliferation of wireless communication systems has promoted the development of miniaturized antenna designs. Annular ring patch antennas are reported to reduce antenna size. In this paper, several novel compact probe-fed annular-ring microstrip patch antennas are presented. In order to reduce the antenna size and provide a suitable input impedance

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2010
Abstract The ultimate strength of steel I-girders is reduced when the loads are applied at an eccentricity relative to the center of the section, compared with the centric case, for which the loads are applied in the plane of the web. Current expressions for the strength reduction coefficient for eccentrically patch-loaded steel I-girders do not ...

Microstrip patch miniaturization by slots loading
2005 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005The effect of slot loading on microstrip patch antennas is investigated. Initially, Koch island fractal and H-shape slots are introduced to microstrip patch antennas and their effect on reduction of the resonant frequency is determined. Then, additional slots of more complex geometry are implemented on the H-shaped patch to further reduce its resonance

A dielectric resonator loaded patch antenna
IWAT 2005. IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology: Small Antennas and Novel Metamaterials, 2005., 2005A patch antenna supported by a dielectric resonator is studied. This small antenna operates at the center frequency of 1.265 GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 2.2% (10-dB bandwidth). It offers a maximum gain of 3 dBi and the measured radiation pattern is stable across the operating frequencies.

Analysis of Laminated plates for Patch Loads
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2019Abstract Symmetric, anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle-ply laminated plates have been examined for flexure analysis with polynomial radial basis function base meshfree method. Governing differential equations (GDSs) are derived using energy principle.

A Patch Loaded Dielectric Resonator Antenna
TENCON 2005 - 2005 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2005A patch loaded dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. It consists of a dielectric resonator surrounded by a rectangular patch ring acting as a loading element which produces a widen beamwidth in the antenna patterns. A prototype antenna is designed and a 120deg 3-dB beamwidth is demonstrated.

Loads Transfer in the Adhesively Bonded Patch
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011The main objective of this research is to study the reinforcement role of the adhesively bonded patches in the structure. In order to evaluate the mechanical behaviour of the structure reinforced with external patches, a shear lag model was adopted to investigate the load transfer from the host structure to the adhesively bonded patches.
