Cytoplasmic delivery of antibodies through grafting a functional single complementarity‐determining region loop

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We achieved cytoplasmic delivery of non‐cell‐penetrating IgGs by grafting a single functional complementarity‐determining region 1 (CDR1) from the light chain variable region (VL) of the cell‐internalizable 3D8 antibody. The engineered IgG acquired cell‐penetrating ability while maintaining antigen affinity, highlighting CDR1 grafting as a promising ...

Analysis of effective ingredients of pyroligneous acid (wood vinegar) as a disinfectant [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
textabstractHistamine (2-(4-imidazol)ethylamine) has been shown to downregulate cell-mediated reactions in vitro. However, the role of such downregulation in vivo has not yet extensively been studied in humans.

Identification of functional and diverse circulating cancer‐associated fibroblasts in metastatic castration‐naïve prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Common contact allergens in patients with chronic vesicular dermatitis of palms and soles: A retrospective study

open access: yesIndian Dermatology Online Journal, 2019
Background: Chronic and recurrent vesiculation over the palms and soles is termed chronic vesicular dermatitis. Its etiology is multifactorial and contact allergy plays an important role. Aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate the clinical relevance of

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Optimal Patch-Leaving Behaviour: A Case Study Using The Parasitoid Cotesia rebecula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
1. Parasitoids are predicted to spend longer in patches with more hosts, but previous work on Cotesia rubecula (Marshall) has not upheld this prediction. Tests of theoretical predictions may be affected by the definition of patch leaving behaviour, which

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.
