Post-traumatic patellar tendon ossification in children: a case series [PDF]
Background. Fractures of the bones that form the knee joint in children are quite rare, accounting for up to 6% of all bone fractures. These include avulsion fractures of the patellar apex as well as tibial tuberosity avulsion fractures, which may result

Abstract Injuries involving the medial collateral ligament (MCL), or combined injuries to both the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and MCL, are common and present considerable diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Better understanding of MCL anatomy and biomechanics, especially in combined ACL–MCL injuries, has driven the need for updated clinical ...

Abstract Purpose To evaluate osteoarthritis (OA) progression across functional knee phenotypes (FKPs) over a follow‐up period of ≥10 years. Methods This retrospective longitudinal study included 388 patients (764 knees) with healthy knees or early OA (Kellgren–Lawrence grade ≤1) at baseline and a minimum follow‐up of 10 years.

Abstract Purpose To compare residual symptoms, function and patient satisfaction following unrestricted kinematic alignment (KA) versus mechanical alignment (MA) in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA). It was hypothesized that KA would reduce residual symptoms and improve function and satisfaction.

Abstract Background Non‐ambulatory tetraparesis or tetraplegia in cats may constitute a diagnostic challenge for general practitioners. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate if clinical variables from signalment, history, clinical examination and basic ancillary tests are associated with underlying diagnoses in cats with non‐ambulatory tetraparesis ...

RESULTS OF TRANSVERSE PATELLAR FRACTURES TREATED WITH MODIFIED TENSION BAND
Fractures of the patella usually are transverse. In this study, the results of 20 transverse patellar fractures treated with the modified tension band technique and followed between 1992 and 1999 years were evaluated.

Abstract The marronoid clade is a globally distributed, ecologically diverse group of spiders. It is an important faunal component in both natural and synanthropic environments, and even found in aquatic and extreme habitats such as desert salt flats. The systematics of the marronoid clade has been notoriously unstable due to the widespread character ...

Our μCT‐based pilot study reveals size and shape disparity in the adult postcranial skeleton of growth‐hormone model (bGH) mice relative to wild‐type mice. bGH mice have larger and more sexually dimorphic bones, with a systemic radiodensity increase in bony sesamoids and associated, but typically uncalcified, soft tissues.

In this randomized controlled trial, adding aerobic exercise or strength training to physical therapy improved outcomes in patients with temporomandibular disorders and nociplastic pain. Aerobic exercise produced greater reductions in pain and central sensitization‐related symptoms, whereas strength training improved trapezius muscle strength and long ...
