Fractures associated with patellar ligament grafts in cruciate ligament surgery
We reviewed retrospectively 490 patellar ligament reconstructions for cruciate ligament injuries performed from 1980 to 1990. There were six cases of patellar splitting and three displaced patellar fractures in donor knees. The fissure fractures all occurred during the removal of the patellar bone block.

Thermography diagnosis of medial patellar ligament rupture in a horse [PDF]
In this report, thermography was evaluated as a portable diagnostic tool in addition to ultrasonography, which is frequently used in the diagnosis of medial patellar ligament tears in horses.

Although the medial patellotibial ligament (MPTL) has been neglected regarding its function in patellar stability, recently, its importance in terminal extension and during flexion has been recognized.

Lateral Patellotibial Ligament Reconstruction for Medial Patellar Instability
Medial patellar instability, though infrequently recognized, can be a disabling complication of a lateral retinacular release. Patients with persistent anterior knee pain and instability after lateral release should be evaluated closely.

The relationship between additional heads of the quadriceps femoris, the vasti muscles, and the patellar ligament. [PDF]
The quadriceps femoris consists of four muscles: the rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus intermedius, and vastus lateralis. However, the effect of additional quadriceps femoris heads on the vasti muscles and patellar ligaments is unknown. The aims of

Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using bone–patellar tendon–bone autograft with suture tape augmentation [PDF]
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly injured ligament in the knee, with injury usually occurring as a result of multidirectional sports.

Recurrent patellar dislocations are correlated with an elevated risk for further patellar dislocations. Chronic patellar instability is a disabling issue for some patients and may require surgical intervention for proper treatment.

Anterior cruciate ligament injuries are common, mostly occurring during sports trauma. Conversely, patellar tendon ruptures are uncommon injuries secondary to forceful contractions of the extensor mechanism. It is important to consider the possibility of
