Traumatic Fracture of the Polyethylene Tibial Post in a Posterior‐Stabilized Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Posterior‐stabilized total knee arthroplasty (TKA) uses a cam–post mechanism to provide anteroposterior stability, but polyethylene tibial post failure can occur as a rare yet serious complication. We report a case of early TKA failure caused by traumatic tibial post fracture.

Personalized alignment in total knee arthroplasty reduces patellar tilt: A retrospective study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1766-1775, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose Patellofemoral kinematics is crucial for patient satisfaction following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). A postoperative patellar tilt greater than 5° has been associated with inferior clinical outcomes. While a femoral component external rotation beyond 3° is generally protective against patellar tilt, personalized alignment may not ...

Patella baja post tibial plateau levelling osteotomy on a 7‐year‐old Bichon Frise

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 7‐year‐old, male, neutered Bichon Frise presented with a 3‐month history of intermittent lameness 18 months post tibial plateau levelling osteotomy as treatment for cranial cruciate ligament rupture. On the physical examination, hyperextension of the right stifle joint was detected.

Impact of osteoarthritis aetiology and implant constraint on the risk of secondary patellar resurfacing after total knee arthroplasty: An analysis of German Arthroplasty Registry (EPRD) data

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Purpose The benefit of patella resurfacing (PR) in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remains debated. While outcomes appear similar, unsurfaced patellae show higher revision rates. Existing studies are limited by heterogeneous cohorts. This study assessed the risk of secondary PR in relation to the level of constraint and primary procedure
