New aetiology of patellofemoral pain syndrome [PDF]

We report the case of a 30-year-old man with more than 100 different male sexual partners per year. He reported using cocaine, ecstasy, γ-hydroxybutyric acid and crystal mephedrone and presented with bilateral gonalgia resistant to standard analgesia. He had no noteworthy medical history, and physical examination and laboratory tests were uninformative.

This large, single‐center study provides a comprehensive cross‐sectional overview of cartilage injuries among 25,293 patients who underwent primary knee arthroscopy between 2017 and 2023. We found an overall prevalence of 66.2%, with 26.6% classified as severe (Outerbridge Grade III–IV).
