Introduction: Persistent urachal anomalies are rare congenital pathologies caused by a failure of obliteration of the urachal remnant, whereas a patent omphalomesenteric duct is due to an incomplete obliteration of the vitelline duct.

Complete patency of the omphalomesenteric duct is one of the most uncommon presentations of omphalomesenteric related anomalies. We herein present a newborn with a faecal umbilical discharge due to the above-mentioned anomaly. We describe the diagnostic and therapeutic options and the results of a literature review.
