Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Advance path loss model for LoRaWAN coverage estimation

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học và Công nghệ
This paper demonstrates that, using multiple data points around each gateway allows for the creation of accurate coverage heat maps by using a proposed LoRaWAN coverage estimation algorithm.

Estimation of Path Loss Parameters of a Sub-Terahertz Wireless Channel Using Monostatic Radar

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper presents a novel technique for estimating the path loss parameters of radio channels using monostatic radar. To this end, a two-way path loss model for a scenario using monostatic radar for a sub-terahertz (sub-THz) band channel measurement is

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Sub-6-GHz 5G Large-Scale Path Loss Model for Shoemaker Rim F: Sensitivity to Transmitter Antenna Pattern

open access: yesTelecom
Future lunar missions require robust 5G communication links, and their design depends partly on path loss characterization, link budget planning inputs, and path prediction loss models tailored to the Moon’s environmental conditions. This work develops a

Providing Wireless Coverage to High-rise Buildings Using UAVs

open access: yes, 2017
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be used as aerial wireless base stations when cellular networks go down. Prior studies on UAV-based wireless coverage typically consider an Air-to-Ground path loss model, which assumes that the users are outdoor and ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

A WSN Forest Location Algorithm on Path Loss Model Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
The complexity of forest environment leads to the large location error of the Received Signal Strength Indication(RSSI) of sensor network, and the current RSSI path loss model cannot meet the location requirement of sensor node in forest.Aiming at this ...
