Pathological Evidence Exploration in Deep Retinal Image Diagnosis

open access: yes, 2018
Though deep learning has shown successful performance in classifying the label and severity stage of certain disease, most of them give few evidence on how to make prediction.

The pathological role of ferroptosis in ischemia/reperfusion-related injury

open access: yesZoological Research, 2020
Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) is a pathological process that occurs in numerous organs throughout the human body, and it is frequently associated with severe cellular damage and death.

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Scaling and Eigenmode Tests of the Improved Fat Clover Action

open access: yes, 2000
We test a recently proposed improved lattice-fermion action, the fat link clover action, examining indicators of pathological small-quark-mass lattice artifacts ("exceptional configurations") on quenched lattices of spacing 0.12 fm and studying scaling ...

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Topical Application to Mixture of Honey with Cod Liver Oil as a Novel Therapy to Treat Contaminated Skin Wounds in Rabbits Model

open access: yesKufa Journal for Veterinary Medical Sciences, 2017
Contaminated wounds are common in all animals and human being; their treatments may complicated and need for prolong duration, therefore the current study aimed to investigate an alternative way to treat the contaminated wounds by using natural compounds

PATHOLOGICAL COMPLETE RESPONSE TO NEOADJUVANT CHEMORADIOTHERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH LOCALLY ADVANCED GASTRIC CANCER

open access: yesСибирский онкологический журнал, 2020
The impact of pathological complete response (pCR) on long-term treatment outcomes was analyzed in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer, who received prolonged neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy.Material and Methods.

Pathological EEG Findings in the Patients with the First Seizure Admitted to the Emergency Department [PDF]

open access: yesReviews in Clinical Medicine, 2019
Background: According to statistics, at least four percent of people experience one or more nonfebrile seizures in their life span. Continuous Electroencephalography (cEEG) Monitoring is a useful diagnostic tool for seizure detection. The purpose of this

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Matrix metalloproteinase-13 refines pathological staging of precancerous colorectal lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An exact classification of precancerous stages of colorectal polyps might improve therapy and patients´ outcome. Here we investigate the association between grade of dysplasia and Matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) expression in 137 biopsies from ...
