Influence of homocysteine on the physical structure and molecular mobility of elastin network in cultured arteries [PDF]
The thermal and dielectric properties of the elastin network were investigated in arteries cultured with physiological and pathological concentrations of homocysteine, an aminoacid responsible of histological impairments in human arteries.

Angiotensin II (AngII), a neuropeptide, interacts with amyloid‐β (Aβ), a key player in Alzheimer's disease. This study reveals that AngII reduces Aβ aggregation and membrane disruption in vitro. Biophysical assays and molecular modeling suggest AngII binds disordered Aβ forms, potentially modulating early amyloidogenic events and contributing to ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Developing the Quantitative Histopathology Image Ontology : A case study using the hot spot detection problem [PDF]
Interoperability across data sets is a key challenge for quantitative histopathological imaging. There is a need for an ontology that can support effective merging of pathological image data with associated clinical and demographic data.

Cellular Milieu Imparts Distinct Pathological α-Synuclein Strains in α-Synucleinopathies
In Lewy body diseases—including Parkinson’s disease, without or with dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and Alzheimer’s disease with Lewy body co-pathology1—α-synuclein (α-Syn) aggregates in neurons as Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites2.

CCT4 promotes tunneling nanotube formation
Tunneling nanotubes (TNTs) are membranous tunnel‐like structures that transport molecules and organelles between cells. They vary in thickness, and thick nanotubes often contain microtubules in addition to actin fibers. We found that cells expressing monomeric CCT4 generate many thick TNTs with tubulin.

The Connections between Pathological Personality Traits and Interpersonal Behavior
An alternative model of pathological personality traits was recently developed in an effort to address the challenges associated with the categorical model of personality disorder classification (e.g., high rates of comorbidity, minimal overlap with ...
