Patient‐Reported Outcome Measures for Assessing Health‐Related Quality of Life in Patients With Polyneuropathies, Focusing on Guillain‐Barré Syndrome and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy: A Systematic Review of Measurement Properties

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 30, Issue 2, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Guillain‐Barre syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) are immune‐mediated peripheral neuropathies. Despite treatment, patients may report residual deficits, pain, and fatigue with considerable impact on quality of life.

Value‐Based Experiences Related to Digital Follow‐Up Services Among Critical Care Survivors: An International Qualitative Study

open access: yesNursing &Health Sciences, Volume 27, Issue 2, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Intensive care units (ICUs) are increasingly striving to provide cost‐effective and value‐based support. To meet this trend, digital solutions might offer appropriate opportunities for delivering remote, personalized follow‐up services. However, it remains unclear whether digital solutions align with survivors' preferences to improve post‐ICU ...

Is orbital angular momentum always conserved in spontaneous parametric down-conversion? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the non-linear optical process of type-II spontaneous parametric down-conversion, we present on an experiment showing that the two-photon detection amplitude of the down-converted beams does not generally reproduce the transverse profile of the pump beam that carries non-zero orbital angular momentum.

Patient's Perception of Primary Health Care Provision With Respect to Access, Continuity and Coordination—InCept: An International Qualitative Perspective

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 538-548, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Health care systems are confronted with an increasing burden of (multi‐)morbidity and a shortfall of healthcare providers. Coordination and continuity of care in chronic and multi‐morbid patient is especially important. As qualitative patient experience data within care processes is scarce, we aim to increase the understanding of chronically ...

Measure what we want: a taxonomy of short generic person-reported outcome and experience measures (PROMs and PREMs)

open access: yesBMJ Open Quality, 2020
Introduction Health and care systems are complex and multifaceted, but most person-reported outcome and experience measures (PROMs and PREMs) address just one aspect.

Enhancing Learning Systems in Using Patient Experience Data: An Exploratory Mixed‐Method Study in Two Italian Regions

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 688-700, May 2025.
ABSTRACT In the quest for healthcare systems enhancement, the improvement of patient experience plays a central role. The challenge lies in converting patient‐reported experience data into actionable knowledge for quality improvement. This study aims to investigate the use of patient‐reported data as knowledge base for actions and to identify and map ...

Do People Prefer "Natural" code? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Natural code is known to be very repetitive (much more so than natural language corpora); furthermore, this repetitiveness persists, even after accounting for the simpler syntax of code. However, programming languages are very expressive, allowing a great many different ways (all clear and unambiguous) to express even very simple computations.

Mode-resolved Photon Counting via Cascaded Quantum Frequency Conversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Resources for the manipulation and measurements of high-dimensional photonic signals are crucial for implementing qu$d$it-based applications. Here we propose potentially high-performance, chip-compatible devices for such purposes by exploiting quantum-frequency conversion in nonlinear optical media. Specifically, by using sum-frequency generation in a $

Short‐Term Risk Factors for Bone Loss in Multiple Sclerosis: A Prospective Study and Literature Review

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Reduced bone mass and increased osteoporosis risk are common in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). The aim of the study was to identify risk factors for short‐term bone loss in MS. Methods This prospective study included 139 pwMS (ages 18–65).
