Polar Steroids from the Marine Scallop Patinopecten yessoensis

Journal of Natural Products, 1988
Eight polyhydroxylated sterols, seven of them novel, have been isolated from the hepatopancreas of the scallop Patinopecten yessoensis. Compounds 1−7 possessed the same Δ 7 -3β,5α,6β-triol nucleus but differed in the side chains. One very minor component 8 had an additional hydroxyl group at C-9α. Their structures were deduced from spectral data and by

A Molecular Cytogenetic Map of Scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis)

Marine Biotechnology, 2019
To consolidate the genetic, physical, and cytogenetic maps of scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis), we constructed a molecular cytogenetic map by localizing 84 fosmid clones that contain different SNP markers from 19 linkage groups (LGs) using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).

Developmental dynamics of myogenesis in Yesso Scallop Patinopecten yessoensis

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2019
The development of bivalves has been extensively studied over the last 150 years. Despite this, the developmental dynamics of myogenesis in bivalves remains largely unknown, particularly at the early developmental stages. In the present study, we investigate the characteristics of muscle development of Yesso scallop Patinopecten yessoensis by ...

Marine sterols. VI(1). Sterols of the scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis

Steroids, 1975
The sterols of the scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis Jay, was found to contain over 20 components. The major components were delta5-sterols, and lesser amount of ring-saturated sterols were also present. Biogenetically unusual C26 sterols (24-norcholesta-5,22-dien-3beta-ol and 24-norcholest-22-en-3beta-ol) and 24(28)-cis-24-propylidenecholest-5-en-3beta-

Structural analysis of a polysaccharide from Patinopecten yessoensis viscera

European Food Research and Technology, 2009
A water-soluble polysaccharide, SVP-2, was obtained from Patinopecten yessoensis viscera. Its major structural features were elucidated using composition analysis, methylation analysis, periodate oxidation and Smith degradation, partial acid hydrolysis, and NMR spectroscopy. The results indicated that SVP-2, with an average molecular weight of 170 kDa,

Monoclonal Antibodies toward Scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) Testis and Wheat Germ Calmodulins

The Journal of Biochemistry, 1991
A monoclonal antibody (IM7) toward scallop testis calmodulin and another one (PBE2) toward wheat germ calmodulin were produced. Ca2+ was required for IM7 to react with scallop calmodulin. IM7 reacted with the C-terminal region (Asp78-Lys148) of the calmodulin.

Calpain II-like proteinase of scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) striated adductor muscle

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1992
1. A Ca(2+)-dependent cysteine proteinase was purified from scallop striated adductor muscle by ammonium sulfate fractionation and column chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and Sephacryl S-300. 2. The enzyme is of Mr approximately 200,000, composed of two Mr 100,000 subunits. 3.

Adenosine deaminase in the adductor muscle of the scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1991
1. The scallop enzyme was separated by DE52 ion-exchange chromatography into two forms with the same mol. wt of 38,000 and similar characteristics. 2. The enzyme was inactivated in the absence of dithiothreitol and complete reactivation was achieved by adding the agent within a critical storage period. 3. The apparent values of pKm and Vmax sensitively

Keragaman Morfologi Kerang Hotate (Patinopecten yessoensis) di Teluk Funka Hokkaido Jepang

MAIYAH, 2023
Hotate scallop are cold water species that can only be cultivated in cold waters. Consumption of Patinopecten yessoensis, Jay 1857 from Japan and other countries shows greater demand, so research related to hotate scallop is important to manage hotate culture and its broodstock to maintain continous supply of this marine product.

Physiological energetics of Japanese scallop Patinopecten yessoensis larvae

Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 1988
Abstract Growth and ingestion rates were determined for Japanese scallop Patinopecten yessoensis larvae reared at temperatures between 10 and 18 °C and fed concentrations of Isochrysis aff. galbana (clone T-ISO) cells between 5 and 30 cells · μl −1 to gain insight into energy balance.
