Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

Crystal Structure Determination of Hydrochloride Tabersonine from Powder X-ray Diffraction Data

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2011
:After extracted from Voacanga africana Staph., the crude sample was purified and recrystallized to get polycrystalline powder. The crystal structure of Hydrochloride Tabersonine was determined from its X-ray powder diffraction pattern through ...

Pattern, Structure And Formation Of Activity Space In Hinterland Resorts: A Study Of Barbados [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
This thesis seeks to uncover the factors, regularities, and tendencies which govern and describe activity space pattern, structure, and formation in small tourism-dependent areas of the world economic periphery (hinterland resorts). Tourist/resident socio-spatial relations are viewed in the context of activity participation, the patronage of ...
