Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Adaptive Bayesian Space-Time Equalisation for Multiple Receive-Antenna Assisted Single-Input Multiple-Output Systems

open access: yes, 2008
This contribution considers nonlinear space–time equalisation (STE) for multiple receive-antenna induced single-input multipleoutput (SIMO) systems. By exploiting the inherent symmetry of the underlying optimal Bayesian STE solution, a novel symmetric ...

An IPv6 target generation approach based on address space forest

open access: yesScientific Reports
IPv6 target generation techniques are crucial for Internet-wide rapid scanning of IPv6 network assets. Current algorithms are mostly limited to low-dimensional patterns (pattern dimensions $$\le$$  4) within the IPv6 address space tree (6ASTree).

Multivariate autoregressive modelling of sea level time series from TOPEX/Poseidon satellite altimetry [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinear Processes in Geophysics, 2006
This work addresses the autoregressive modelling of sea level time series from TOPEX/Poseidon satellite altimetry mission. Datasets from remote sensing applications are typically very large and correlated both in time and space.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Understanding the Internal Structure of Daily Activity Space from Anchor Regions: Evidence from Long-Time-Series Mobile Signaling Data

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information
Activity space represents the spatiotemporal interaction between individuals and their environment. While most studies measure potential activity space using short-term data, few have defined or measured its actual internal structure.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Space-time modeling of soil moisture: Stochastic rainfall forcing with heterogeneous vegetation

open access: yes, 2006
The present paper complements that of Isham et al. (2005), who introduced a space-time soil moisture model driven by stochastic space-time rainfall forcing with homogeneous vegetation and in the absence of topographical landscape effects.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.
