Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Urban DNA: Morphogenetic Analysis of Urban Pattern

open access: yesIconarp International Journal of Architecture and Planning, 2017
Urban pattern is the result of a dynamic transformation process, which can follow two different trajectories: planned interventions generally produces clear geometrical patterns in large areas, however, unplanned transformation process needs more time ...

SISTEM RUANG KERATON KANOMAN DAN KERATON KACIREBONAN

open access: yesEthos: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, 2018
Keraton Kanoman and Kacirebonan  have a history of the entry of Islam in West Java. Currently both keraton still have the building intact. In addition, there are also descendants who continue the tradition of the palace.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

PalFM-Index: FM-Index for Palindrome Pattern Matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The palindrome pattern matching (pal-matching) is a kind of generalized pattern matching, in which two strings x and y of same length are considered to match (pal-match) if they have the same palindromic structures, i.e., for any possible 1 ≤ i < j ≤ |x|

Evolution and zoning of spatial ecosystem functional stability in the southern hilly region of China: a “structure–function” perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2023
IntroductionA series of significant ecological construction projects in the southern hilly region have brought about substantial changes to the ecological status and comprehensive zoning of the region. Hunan Province, with its strategic significance, was

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Point source in a phononic grating: stop bands give rise to phonon-focusing caustics

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2012
We use locally-excited gigahertz surface phonon wavepackets in microscopic line structures of different pitches to reveal profound anisotropy in the radiation pattern of a point source in a grating.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
