Multiuser MIMO-OFDM for Next-Generation Wireless Systems

open access: yes, 2007
This overview portrays the 40-year evolution of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) research. The amelioration of powerful multicarrier OFDM arrangements with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems has numerous benefits, which are ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) Technique

open access: yes, 2023
Next-generation wireless networks require higher spectral efficiency and lower latency to meet the demands of various upcoming applications. Recently, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) schemes are introduced in the literature for 5G and beyond ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Chip-Level Modulated BPPM Fiber-Optic Code Division Multiple Access

open access: yes, 2009
Chip-Level Modulated Binary Pulse Position Modulation (CLM-BPPM) is proposed as a modulation scheme for Fiber-Optic Code Division Multiple Access (FO-CDMA) systems using Optical Orthogonal Code (OOC) for time domain signal spreading.

Enabling High Order SCMA Systems in Downlink Scenarios With a Serial Coding Scheme

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In the future fifth generation communication systems, sparse code multiple access (SCMA) shows strong competitiveness as a novel non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique. Attributing to multi-dimensional codebooks, the SCMA can obtain shaping gain

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Genetic Algorithm Assisted Minimum Bit Error Rate Multiuser Detection in Multiple Antenna Aided OFDM

open access: yes, 2004
The family of minimum bit error rate (MBER) multiuser detectors (MUD) is capable of outperforming the classic minimum mean-squared-error (MMSE)MUDin term of the achievable bit-error rate (BER) owing to directly minimising the BER cost function.

Performance Analysis of Non-Ideal Sectorized SFR Cellular Systems in Rician Fading Channels With Unbalanced Diversity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Nowadays, low reuse factors are used in cellular systems because of high traffic demand, despite it produces high co-cell interference (CCI) levels. Consequently, soft-frequency-reuse (SFR) and sectorization are used to improve the spectral efficiency ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
