Pattern Dystrophy

2018
The pattern dystrophies of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) include a group of disorders: Butterfly-type pattern dystrophy (Figs. 17.1, 17.2, 17.3, 17.4 and 17.5) Adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy Sjögren's reticular-type pattern dystrophy Fundus pulverulentus.

Pattern Dystrophy of the Pigment Epithelium

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1977
Three generations of a family showed alterations in the retinal pigment epithelium along with mild visual disturbance. Younger members had granular pigment dispersed beneath the fovea while older members showed a reticular pigment pattern. The electro-oculogram was subnormal in most affected individuals, but visual fields, color vision, dark adaptation,

PATTERN DYSTROPHY OF THE RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIUM

Retina, 1990
The authors describe a family in which one member had pattern dystrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium. The proband also had neovascular membranes which resulted in decreased visual acuity. Two other family members had abnormal electro-oculographic findings, but a clinical normal-appearing fundus that could represent an early stage of the disease ...

Pattern dystrophies of the retinal pigment epithelium

Clinical and Experimental Optometry, 2000
We describe a family that shows autosomal dominant pattern dystrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium. There were 10 affected family members encompassing three generations. The various manifestations of these dystrophies, their inheritance characteristics, affects on vision function and their pathogenesis are discussed.

Patterned dystrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium

Ophthalmic Paediatrics and Genetics, 1986
The authors describe a family presenting with a patterned dystrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium. The aspect of the macular area is granular to reticular with a tendency to a butterfly shape. Visual functions are normal or near-normal. A review of the literature is given.

Pattern Dystrophy of the Retinal Pigment Epithelium

Ophthalmology, 1982
The pattern dystrophies are a group of hereditary macular dystrophies characterized by lesions of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) arranged in various patterns of dots, lines, and branched figures. This report of two pedigrees expands the clinical spectrum.

The Pattern Dystrophies

2016
The pattern dystrophies form a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of retinal phenotypes including adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy (AFVD), butterfly-shaped pigment dystrophy (BPD), reticular dystrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium, pseudo-Stargardt pattern dystrophy (multifocal pattern dystrophy simulating Stargardt ...

Pattern dystrophies of the retinal pigment epithelium

Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, 1996
ABSTRACT Pattern dystrophies of the retinal pigment epithelium are infrequent fundus abnormalities arranged in various patterns of dots, lines and branches. The basic lesion appears to be yellow deposits of abnormal lipofuscin accumulated within degenerated retinal pigment epithelium cells.
